Refund Policy

Effective Last updated

In short

  • If a Host cancels a gathering, you get a full refund automatically.
  • Ticket refunds otherwise follow the policy the Host set, which is shown to you before you pay.
  • Premium can be cancelled any time and is refundable pro-rata within 14 days of purchase if you have not meaningfully used it.
  • Boosts are refundable before they start running, and not once they have.
  • Consumers in the EU keep their statutory 14-day withdrawal right; this policy does not reduce it.

The summary is a convenience and has no legal effect. Where it and the full text differ, the full text governs.

This policy forms part of the User Agreement and covers everything you can pay for through Kaif. Where the law where you live gives you stronger rights than this policy, those rights apply.

1. Tickets and paid gatherings

If the Host cancels

You receive a full refund of the ticket price, automatically, to the payment method you used. We start the refund as soon as the cancellation is registered. You do not need to ask.

If the Host materially changes the gathering

A material change means the date, the time, the venue, or the nature of the gathering changes in a way you did not agree to. You may cancel and receive a full refund, provided you do so within 48 hours of being told about the change, or before the gathering starts, whichever comes first.

If you cannot come

The Host sets the refund window for their own gatherings, and it is shown on the gathering page before you pay. Common choices are full refund up to 24 hours before, partial refund, or non-refundable. If a Host has set no policy, our default applies: full refund up to 48 hours before the gathering starts, and no refund after that.

If something went wrong

If a gathering did not happen, was substantially not as described, or the Host did not appear, write to support@kaif.app within 14 days with what happened. We will look into it and, where the complaint is justified, refund you regardless of the Host's stated policy. The cost of that refund is recovered from the Host.

2. Premium subscription

  • You can cancel at any time in the app. Cancellation stops the next renewal; the subscription keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Within 14 days of your first purchase, you can request a full refund if you have not made substantial use of the Premium features. Write to support@kaif.app.
  • After 14 days, or after substantial use, we refund the unused portion pro-rata where the cancellation is due to a fault on our side — for example, a feature you paid for stopped working and we could not fix it.
  • We do not refund for periods that have already elapsed and been used.

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store handles billing and refunds under its own terms, and you should request the refund there. We can help you work out which applies.

3. Visibility boosts

A boost is refundable in full at any time before it starts running. Once it has started, it is not refundable, because the promotion has been delivered — with the exception of a technical failure on our side that prevented it from being shown, in which case we refund in full or re-run it, at your choice.

4. Club memberships

Club memberships are sold by the Club, not by us. The Club sets its own refund terms, which are shown before purchase. If a Club stops operating, stops providing what the membership promised, or is removed from the Service, write to support@kaif.app and we will refund the unused portion of your membership.

5. Statutory withdrawal rights

If you are a consumer in the European Union, Directive 2011/83/EU gives you 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services without giving a reason. Where you ask us to begin supplying a digital service immediately during that period and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right on full performance, the right ends when the service has been fully supplied.

The withdrawal right does not apply to a contract for a leisure service supplied on a specific date — which is what a ticket to a gathering is. This is the exception in Article 16(l) of the Directive, and it is why ticket refunds follow the Host's policy rather than a statutory cooling-off period.

If you are a consumer in the Russian Federation, your rights under the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights" No. 2300-1 — including the right to refuse performance of a services contract subject to reimbursing costs actually incurred — apply and are not limited by this policy.

6. How to request a refund, and how long it takes

  1. Write to support@kaif.app from the email address on your account, or use the support option in the app.
  2. Tell us what you paid for, when, and why you are asking. An order reference speeds things up.
  3. We respond within 5 working days, and in most cases decide at the same time.
  4. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer then takes its own time — usually 3 to 10 working days, occasionally longer.

We do not refund to a different payment method than the one used, and we cannot refund in cash. If the original method has been closed, tell us and we will agree an alternative.

7. If you disagree with a decision

Ask for it to be reviewed by writing to hello@kaif.app. Please do so before starting a chargeback with your bank — a chargeback on a disputed gathering usually freezes the Host's funds as well, and we can normally resolve it faster ourselves.
