Hosting is three steps and takes under a minute. The hard part is not the form — it is writing something people want to come to.
The three steps
- What — a title, a category, and a couple of lines describing it.
- Where and when — drop a pin or search for a venue, then pick a date and time.
- Who — how many people, whether joining is open or needs approval, and whether it is free.
If you started from a Moment, most of this is filled in already and you only adjust what you want to change.
Writing a description people join
- Say what will actually happen. "Coffee and a walk along the river, about two hours" beats "let's hang out".
- Say who it is for. "Anyone who wants to practise English" tells people whether they qualify.
- Say what to bring, if anything, and roughly what it will cost them at the venue.
- Keep it short. Four lines is plenty; nobody reads twelve.
Choosing a location
Search for a venue by name and Kaif will snap the pin to it, which is more useful to attendees than a pin in the middle of a street. For private gatherings you can restrict the exact location so it only becomes visible to confirmed participants.
Prefer public venues, especially for a first gathering. If yours is at a private address, say so clearly in the description so people can decide before they commit rather than after.
Adding a photo
Gatherings with a photograph get noticeably more joins, because the map pin shows it. A picture of the venue works better than a stock image of the activity. Photos are compressed on your device before upload, so a large camera photograph is fine.
Once it is live
You get a shareable invite link for anyone not on Kaif, the group chat opens immediately, and you can edit almost anything afterwards. Changing the time or the venue notifies everyone who has joined.
